Linn “Lynn Jr.” Anthony, Jr. 76, of Burkeville, formerly of Louisa, peacefully passed from this life to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Wednesday, October 25, 2017, at Centra Southside Community Hospital, Farmville, Virginia.
He is survived by four sisters, Barbara Anthony, Lucile Splane, Lucy Bishop, and Dorothy Howell; one brother, Harry Anthony; numerous nieces and nephews; and special nieces and nephew, Diana Hunley, Larry Anthony, and Amy Anthony. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Linwood and Viola (Foster) Anthony; sisters, Margaret Claytor, Edith Hochfelder, Virginia Hunley, and Gladys Cleary; and brother, Johnny Anthony.
He was blessed in life with a wealth of loving natural family members and caretakers from Piedmont Geriatric Hospital and Centra Southside Community Hospital. His life was not an easy one, as he dealt with disabilities and serious illnesses all his life. However, despite all this, he worked physically demanding jobs, lived independently until illness made it impossible for him to continue on his own, and made friends wherever he went. As the time of his passing drew near staff from Piedmont Geriatric Hospital and Centra Southside Community Hospital visited his bedside to say goodbye. He was loved by the people from these hospitals, and he loved them in return. They were his second family.
Lynn Jr. never complained about the hardships he faced in life. Instead, he lived his life with grace and kindness. He had a smile that lit up his entire face, because it came straight from the heart. His natural and second families loved him and thank God for his presence in their lives.
A private memorial will be held in Richmond, Virginia.
