Obituary

Ida Keeton Waldrop, loving wife, sister, and aunt passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 7, 2018.

Born September 4, 1930 in Virgilina, VA, Ida was the daughter of the late Gracie Elliott Keeton and Joseph Franklin Keeton. She worked for 33 years as a cookie packer for the Southern Biscuit Company, later known as Interbake-FFV. Ida found great joy in life’s simple pleasures and loved the Lord and her family with all her heart. She was a member of Hopeful Baptist Church for over 50 years. Ida spoke of her church family with great fondness and joyfully reminisced of the days when her health allowed her to attend regularly.

Ida was predeceased by her beloved husband, Claude Gwaltney Waldrop. They enjoyed almost 50 years of life together living happily in rural Bumpass, VA. She is survived by one brother; two sisters; and numerous nieces and nephews who will greatly miss her gentle smile and kind ways.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at Hopeful Baptist Church, 14340 Hopeful Church Road, Montpelier, VA, on Wednesday, April 11th at 1 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted immediately following the visitation at 2 p.m. Interment will follow the service in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Hopeful Baptist Church in memory of Ida.
