Bernice Brooks Williamson, 101, of Louisa County, widow of William Henry Williamson, Jr. and daughter of Earl Wellington Brooks and Mary Talley Brooks passed away Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at King Adult Home.Mrs. Williamson retired from the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles, was a lifelong member of Holly Grove Christian Church and a resident of the Shelfar Community until recent years.Survivors include her loving caregivers for the past 13 years at Kings Adult Home, Nancy McDonald, Yvette Pruitt and Shelly Green; her husband’s family sister, Marie W. Stephens; a number of nieces and a nephew; Betty W. Brown, Christine E. Waters, Catherine S. Crockett and Lee Sarver; the children of her recently departed and beloved first cousin Clifton and his devoted wife, Evelyn Brooks including Patricia Mellick and Ron Brooks and those who chose to love her; the families of Jane, Joe and Nathan Harris and Mary Anne and Tommy Barlow and Sarah Barlow Rudolph.In her final days she lived a quiet and peaceful life being cared for with love, compassion and kindness.A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 4, at Holly Grove Christian Church Cemetery.In Lieu of flowers, please consider donations to Holly Grove Christian Church,1637 Holly Grove Drive, Bumpass, VA 23024.
