Bessie B. Woodie, 43, of Mineral, VA passed away on June 04, 2014. Surrounded by her loving family and friends in her home.She was born on June 21, 1970 to Bernard ‘Ben’ Pillsbury and the late Elsie Pillsbury in Ashland VA.Bessie was a dedicated wife and homemaker. She enjoyed flower gardening, crafts, flea markets and looked forward every year to ‘Field Days of the Past’ and the Tractor Pulls.Above everything else, Bessie loved spending time with her grand daughters, Kaylee Renea and Kenzie Jayde Wilson and Kyleigh Harlow.She is survived by her loving husband of 27 years, Teddy R. Woodie Sr., her daughter; Melissa M. Woodie (fiancé Michael Harlow) of Henrico VA, her sons; Teddy ‘TJ’ and David L. Woodie of Mineral; her father, Bernard (wife Pat) Pillsbury of Ashland and her brother Dean Pillsbury of VA Beach, VA. As well as many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces, Nephews and extended family.She is preceded in death by her mother Elsie Pillsbury. and her infant son, Gearl Allen Woodie in 1992.Visitation will be held on Friday, June 6th from 6-8:00 p.m. at Lacy Funeral Home 6241 Cross County Rd. Mineral VA.; where funeral services are being held on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Spring Grove Memorial Cemetery, Mineral, VA. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the family to assist with costs.
