Charles Daniel Brooks, Sr.

Mar 28, 1947 – Dec 08, 2016

Charles D. “Danny” Brooks Sr., born in 1947 and grew up in Louisa, Virginia, later moving to Charles City, Virginia; passed away peacefully on December 8, 2016 losing his battle with kidney disease. He was preceded in death by his parents; Charles Morton and Mary Dorothy Brooks; and a brother, William “Bill” Brooks. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era and was the proud and talented owner of Brooks Construction Company for about thirty-five years. He loved hunting and was a long standing and well respected member of Running Deer Hunting Club in Charles City. He loved riding his Harley Davidson Motorcycle and living life to the fullest with his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife; Elaine Brooks, his son, Chad Brooks (Charity), his daughter, Wendi Osborne (Donald), his stepdaughters, Robin McGee and Erin Craig (Jeremy), his grandchildren, Lyndsay, Devyn, Alexis, Josie and Nico, his great-grandchild, Elysia, his sisters, Marie Drake and Ann Brizzolara and his brother, “Skibo” Brooks.

His family will receive guests on Friday 12/16/16 at 12 noon at Holly Grove Christian Church for a memorial service with military honors to follow at 1pm.
