David Lee Burruss
August 15, 1958 – January 31, 2023
David Lee Burruss, 64, of Bumpass passed away peacefully in his sleep on Tuesday, January 31, 2023.
David will be missed as a caring husband, father and grandfather. He will be remembered for his love of animals, his sense of humor and the fact that he never met a stranger. David’s hobbies included boating, fishing, golfing, and relic hunting. He served many years in the Virginia Army National Guard Reserves and volunteered at Holly Grove Volunteer Rescue Squad. Many friends knew
him as Hog of Hog’s Heaven at Bush Park Campground.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Lee Burruss and Rebecca Williams Burruss. Survivors include his loving wife of 40 years, Lisa Geiger Burruss; children Christopher Lee Burruss (Felicia) and Jessica Anne Burruss (Dawn and Elizabeth); and granddaughter Abigail Marie Burruss.
A service will be held at 2 p.m.on Saturday, February 11 at Lacy Funeral Home, 6241 Cross County Road, Mineral VA 23117. Interment will be private.

David was a kind & gentle soul; terrible loss. Lisa you are such a lovely person. I know you will miss him terribly. My prayers are with you & your family.

I’ll remember all the good time’s camping. He was a hoot to say the least.
