Dorothy Vernelle Vial
July 29, 1940 – March 17, 2023
Dorothy Vernelle Vial, 82, of Mineral, passed away peacefully on March 17, 2023 surrounded by family. She was born July 29, 1940 in Louisa. She moved to Richmond, after getting married, to raise her family. She moved back in 1991 to be closer to her father and siblings. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ruby and Jack Thacker, her sister, Becky Grant, 2 sons, Herbie and Donnie. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Ellis, Sr, son Ellis, Jr (Kim), daughter Sandy Steele (Jack), daughter in-law Sharon, sisters Jackie (Douglas) and Connie (Reno) and brothers Sammy (Carolyn), Jerry (Terry), and Ronnie, 7 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of life will be held April 1, 2023 at South Anna Baptist Church 9071 Cross County Rd Mineral, Va 23117. Visitation 11:30-12:30, service 12:30, with food to follow in the Fellowship Hall.
Vernell was a special person and we shared many war stories about the Apartment Management Business. I am sorry to hear of her passing she will be missed.

Mrs. V, as she was affectionately called by her staff at Lincoln Manor Apartments. She was the best boss ever, she loved, she fed, she trained and she was always there for all of us. She was clearly an angel to so many and we will never forget her. She was like a 2nd Mom to me. Prayers to the Vial family and a special prayer for Mr. Vial.
