WHEEDLETON Edith Robertson Wheedleton, 89, of Louisa County went to be with Jesus, Saturday, December 8, 2012. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Wirt and Hattie Geneva Robertson; brothers, Donnie and William Archie Robertson; and a sister, Peggy Webb. She is survived by her sisters, Jean Johnston of Williamsburg, Va., Ercelle Edwards of Shollotte, N.C., and Gloria Thrash of Silver Spring, Md.; and brother, Fred Robertson of Williamsburg, Va. She is also survived by her daughter, Dabney Barber and her husband, John and four grandchildren, Hattie Smart (Brad), Caleb Barber (Kelly), Hannah Barber and Jacob Barber; and one great-grandchild, Eleanor Elizabeth Smart. She worked for John R. Chappel Ins. Agency and later retired as a secretary for the Department of Medical Records, MCV Hospital. She loved her Lord, her family and many friends, and Oakland Baptist Church in Gum Spring, Va. where she faithfully served as a Sunday School teacher, treasurer, and greeter. She will long be remembered for her hot rolls and sour cream pound cakes, collecting antiques, and many acts of kindness. “Well done, good and faithful servant.” In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Oakland Baptist Church missions department. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 12 in Oakland Baptist Church, with interment to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 3-5 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday. Arrangements by Lacy Funeral Home, Route 522, Mineral, Va.
