Grayson Lee Proffitt

September 11, 1942 – January 21, 2023

We are sad to announce the passing of Grayson Lee Proffitt (80) of Gum Spring, Virginia. He passed away peacefully on January 21, 2023 with his family by his side. Grayson was born and raised in Goochland County where he graduated from Goochland High School. He was previously employed by the City of Richmond as an HVAC Maintenance Supervisor for 30 years. Frequently called “Bubba” by his friends and loved ones, he loved the outdoors and had his greatest memories farming, hunting, fishing and listening to bluegrass music. He was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Linda Proffitt, parents James Proffitt and Susie Proffitt, a brother James Garland Proffitt (Cartoon) and granddaughter, Hannah Watson. Grayson is survived by his daughters Wendy Lee Grady (Duke), Julie P. Watson (Robert), and grandchildren Gage Bryant, Courtney Grady, Chase Bryant, Austen Grady, Summer Mitchell, and one great- grandchild Octavia Bryant along with the family dog Barkley. He will be missed dearly, but we know we will see him again one day for he is resting with his savior Jesus Christ.
