Jean Murphy Harris, born July 26, 1935, to Clarence Campbell and Alice Hall Murphy of Beaverdam, VA, died July 30, 2025, in Holly Grove, VA. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Wayland Vaughan Harris; sisters, Josephine Goodman and Alice Postans; and brother, Clarence Warren Murphy. She is survived by her son, Wayland Vaughan Harris, Jr.; her daughter, Sherry Lacy and her husband, Ray; granddaughter, Caroline Reddy and her husband, Sean; great-granddaughter and namesake, Cecelia Jean Reddy; sister, Dale Taylor; brother, Charles William Murphy; and many nieces, nephews, and other family members. The family will receive friends at Lacy Funeral Home, Mineral, from 2 until 4 p.m. on Monday, August 4, 2025. A graveside funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, in Hopeful Baptist Church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Holly Grove Volunteer Rescue Squad, Bumpass, VA.
