Jeremiah Desmond Gorman, Jr.
October 2, 1962 – November 22, 2024
Jeremiah Desmond Gorman, Jr. was born in Lynchburg, VA to Jeremiah D. Gorman, Sr. and Virginia Dare Hawkins Gorman on October 2, 1962. He passed away at St. Mary’s Hospital in Richmond, VA on November 22, 2024, where he was surrounded by his admiring family and friends the last few days of his life.
JD was very proud of his Irish heritage and Catholic faith. He was baptized at Holy Cross in Lynchburg and attended St. Mary’s Catholic School in Richmond for several years. JD belonged to multiple organizations over the years including Knights of Columbus, where he was a third-degree Knight, the Moose Lodge, and his proudest association, the Holly Grove Ruritan Club. He belonged to Gold Mine Hunting Club, where he enjoyed the camaraderie just as much, if not more, than racking up large point bucks.
JD was in business with his dad for 50 years. They owned Charity Games, Inc. Of all the different hats he wore over the years, selling was his favorite and he was great at it.
Left behind to continue his story is his wife of 32 years, Rhonda Durbin Gorman. He is also survived by three daughters, Sarah Gorman of Richmond, Caitlin Hughes of Raleigh, NC, and Abigail Brown (Josh) of Palmyra; two beautiful granddaughters, Tiara and Tiyana; two amazing grandsons, Brody and Maddox; and baby boy Brown on the way; godson, Cody Tomnay; two sisters, Sandy Helbert and Beth Henry (Mike); and several nieces and nephews.
JD was full of life. He loved fishing, hunting, and golf. He always had a story to tell, a joke for every situation, and went to extreme measures to pull pranks on anyone and everyone. He was the most laid back person you would ever meet. JD never saw any reason to worry. He always had a smile on his face and never complained. JD loved life and the people in his life loved him. He will never be forgotten.

JD had a colorful journey in life. He gave my parents a run for their money. I distinctly remember mom telling me she could relax once he married Rhonda. I was happy for mom but a little frightened for Rhonda. Rhonda, family and friends made his life whole. He was a good man who was willing to help people in need.
I will miss so much about him including his pranks and jokes. For the record when we were little I did not push him down and cause a big gash in his leg. I told him the statute of limitations has run out but he could consult an attorney. I am sure there are a lot of stories we will remember keeping our love for JD in our hearts.
JD was a full of life.He was the youngest and Mom always had me chasing him down for dinner. He was so lucky to find Rhonda. He told me how much he loved her.He referred to her as his bride. He remembered there anniversary but couldn’t remember my birthday. I always told him I was number one in Florida
I will miss him .He left us with alot of stories to share.
My sincere condolences to the Gorman family. May you find peace in the wonderful memories you all have of him, which will one day bring more smiles than tears.
Our heartfelt sympathy to family and friends on Jeremiah’s passing.
