Monroe Mace Anstine, 91 of Mineral, passed away, Monday evening, November 10, 2008 at his home. He was born April 20, 1917, in Cambridge, Maryland, to the late Hammond Sr. & Ruth Anstine. He is also predeceased by his sister: Elizabeth Doe; 2 grandchildren: Matthew Todd Macdonald, and Annette MacDonald.

Mr. Anstine is past-president of the Lions Club in Falls Church, Virginia; Past worthy patron, Martha Washington, Chapter #42 Eastern Star, Alexandria, Virginia; He was a 32nd Degree Mason in the Kemper-Macon Ware Lodge #64 A.F. & A.M, Falls Church, Virginia.; member of the Scottish Rites Alexandria, Virginia; Member of the Morrocco Shrine of Jacksonville, Florida; He was the 11th Scout Master of Boy Scout Troop 149, in Cherrydale, Virginia. He also worked for the United States Department of the Navy in Coco Solo, in the Panama Canal in 1956. Mr. & Mrs. Anstine would have celebrated there 68th Wedding Anniversary, Monday, November 17th, 2008.

Survivors include his loving wife Miriam Alva” Anstine; his 8 children:Ruth Waller Paul M. Anstine & wife Gayle Lynn McConnell Alan Anstine and wife Lynn Sharon McDonald and husband William Donna Gray Richard Anstine and Dianne Deal; his sister: Mildred Faulkner and husband Hugh; brother: Hammond Anstine Jr. and wife Ellen and brother: David Anstine.
17 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held 1 o’clock Sunday November 23 2008 at Mineral United Methodist Church Pastor Terri Hoffman and Rev. Steve Doe will officiate. Inurnment will follow at a later date.
