Roy McKinley Ramey

October 21, 1928 – February 24, 2021

Roy McKinley Ramey, 92, passed away at his home on Wednesday, February 24, 2021, Roy was born on October 21, 1928 in Wise County, VA.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Emma Jean Ramey; and one son, Alan McKinley Ramey.

He is survived by his devoted children Edward, Sandra, David, Sheila, Charlotte, Douglas, Ricky, Veronica; and many grandchildren; great grandchildren and great- great grandchildren.

The family’s message — Love each other.

Visitation will be Wednesday, March 3, 2021 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lacy Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 4, at Hillcrest Cemetery, with Rev. Tim Wilson officiating.

We will be following CDC COVID-19 guidelines, and state mandates on face covering, social distancing, and occupancy.

    To my wonderful papa we miss u so much ❤️ I don’t know what I’m going to do with out u and ur stories u asking for a cup of coffee and telling me to b good stay off of those drugs well I’m still clean papa but I miss u so bad those 5 months I was with you were the best memories I need I’m not coming to see u to rest I already did that when u were here with me laughing together I’m letting you go now love your granddaughter Stacy as u would say baby girl

    I recall Roy coming to Virginia recall Roy and Daddy (Ralph Ramey)sitting around the kitchen table having coffee talking for hours about the old times ..Ill never forget Roy

    To all my cousins you are in my prayers.uncle roy was a very good man.i remenber meeting up with him and Audrey with my sisters liz.betty.patty we were all going to a ramey reunion boy that was the best time we all had together.uncle Roy had us all laughing the whole time .That trip down home meeting up with him It left happy memories of him in our lives.I know my mom is glad to see him.love and prayers to all of you .love Carolyn lewis Kercheval

      Mr Ramey. I known u all my life. Your a sweet kind loving man. You were always teasing me and making me laugh . Just knowing ur gone from just up the way from me makes me sad. I will miss u playing lottery teasing me and being who u were just u . I know I didn’t get to see much I always loved u as my friend forever. Penney and I Lay’s had fun playing at yall house growing up. We are family. God bless u and love u . Pammy

    Papa there are not enough words to describe the void that this family now has without you here on earth. I will miss how you always had something funny to say about whatever was going on.
    You will be greatly missed I can just imagine your smile when you got to rejoice with grandma and Alan. Rest in peace papa I love you!

    So sorry for the loss of yalls dad, Mr.Ramey was a very nice man,never heard him raise his voice. He loved his children that for sure.My prayers are with all for healing.
