Ruby Marie Williamson
June 14, 1931- May 23, 2020
Ruby Marie Williamson, 88 of Goochland, went to her Heavenly home on May 23, 2020.
Ruby was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a homemaker who cared for her family, friends and community. Ruby served the Lord and faithfully attended and supported Fork of Willis Baptist Church all of her life.
Ruby is survived by children; Elizabeth Butler, Lois Lang, Ruth Maxey, and Roger Bowles, eleven grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren; two brothers; Howard Thurston and Ernest Thurston; three sisters; Margaret Holland, Myrtle Thurston and Mary Tyson.
She is preceded in death by her first husband Andrew Bowles, children Betty Browning and Andrew Bowles, Jr., second husband, Harry Williamson, parents, Hanard and Pearl Ragland Thurston, and brothers James and John Thurston.
Ruby enjoyed working in her garden, canning vegetables, having and attending yard sales. She was a giver to others and never failed to express what her Lord and Savior had done for her. She appreciated the simple things in life and made a lifelong impression with those she met, never meeting a stranger.
Unfortunately, due to the COVID virus conditions it is necessary that the family hold a private service.

We lost the strongest woman I ever knew. Her faith was unshakable and I love her very much
She was the best Grandma anyone could ask for. She always gave to others and loved everyone. I will miss you Granny.

May God give strength to those who are grieving this loss. May her legacy live on through her family. Prayers for you all during this difficult time. 🙏
My love and prayers go out to all the family. A great loss to you but she is resting in the arms of Jesus now. Completely happy. Love all of you very much.
Mother; my best friend, caretaker, the one that wiped my tears, there to hold my hand, listen to all my nonsense, there to share some
wonderful memories on trips to Cape Hatteras, teach me from a child about the Lord, made sure I was feed, even when you didn’t
know where the next meal might come from. Mother, you keep me warm when there was more than 14″ of snow on the ground. You
sit by my side for months when I was in the hospital, never leaving my side. What a wonderful and loving MOTHER you are and always will be to me. I will greatly miss you and having those lovely holidays with you., never forgetting the trip to Grand Canyon and
then to California. coming home you said ” are we through Texas yet” then you said “I don’t think we will ever get through this
state, this is the longest state I have ever seen” and we all had to laugh. These are the memories I will cherish. I Love you, Moma
always and forever, but you are with your Lord now and I am at peace with that.Rejoice with Jesus and his Angels now, because you are one.
We lost the staple of what we all should arrive for in life. Her light is a guidence that we all should follow and live by. There never has been a person whose footsteps everyone should follow in. She was an unbelievable woman whose faith and love was unfathomable and unbreakable. She is and will always be a huge part of the person I have become today. I know that we all have one amazing angel looking down on us and guiding us through life.
Ruby Bowles made a lasting impression on all who got to know her. We are forever linked in life and after as Family. I was always amazed by her strength of character and how she was an extremely loyal and dedicated Mother and Matriarch. My thoughts and prayers are with her and her Dear Family. Her strength runs though the veins of all she reared and raised. I only wished I could have visited before her passing. Sincere Condolences, your Schneider Family – CAPT Nathan Dewitt (Dewey) Schneider, USN
Thank you so much for the wonderful comment you made on my mother’s behalf. We all miss her so much. It has almost been a year now. It is hard to realize. She is looking after all of us now. She Loved you and your family very much. Spoke of you often, and was proud of what you had accomplished in like. We all miss you very much. Love to you and family.

Bless your sweet heart granny!! Can’t believe you’re gone but so glad where you are right now. Thank you Jesus. You always had some kind of canned vegetable for me when you came to get your haircut. I was cleaning the trunk of my car out last week and there was two jars that I needed to give you. So thankful that you were in my life for so many years and I got to call you granny. I don’t think I ever called you by your name. 😊 I will definitely miss you and I sure do love you but I’m so happy you are with Jesus right now. Hopefully some day I will join you. Love you granny.🥰🥰🥰❤️

Loved Ruby so much! I will miss your sweet smile and kindness. I know you are in Heaven with your Savior! I will see you again on Heaven’s Shore. ❤️
Ruby you have always been loved and a part of our family as far back as I can remember. I grew up with your children Betty Jean and Baby Brother also until the Lord saw fit to take them home. You have always provided for your family and LOVED THEM UNCONDITIONALLY. You were my Mama’s dearest friend since you were both 16 years ago. I love you and your family and you will always have a special place in my heart. You were truly a servant of our Lord, teaching all you knew about our Heavenly Father, ,and always gave Him all the glory. You will surely be missed by all your family and everyone whom ever knew you. Rest in Peace and tell my Daddy and Nathan how much we love and miss them. Sandra
