Russell Leake Hicks
April 27, 1934 – October 13, 2024
Russell L. “Buck” Hicks, 90, of Bumpass, passed away on Sunday, October 13, 2024, in his home.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnny and Josie Hicks; his brother, Gene; and sister, Charlotte.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Rebecca “Becky” Hicks; sister, Betty Stanley (Loren); and numerous nieces and nephews.
Buck was drafted into the U.S. Army and proudly served his country from March 1957 to March 1959. He served as part of the Guided Missile Battalion in Germany.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, October 16, 2024 at Hopeful Baptist Church cemetery.
To the family of Mr Hicks, I leave my deepest sympathy. I may not be able to attend the service, but I send my love to you all.

To Momma Beck and family I leave my deepest sympathy for your loss. Buck was such a wonderful person and I always enjoyed hearing his stories and memories. We’ve enjoyed many lunches or dinner sitting together around the kitchen table. We shared many laughs and good food and always loved spending time with you both. If there’s anything I can do for you Momma Beck please call. I love you both so very much. Buck is probably up in heaven trying out his new set of wings fly on Buck fly on. Buck will be missed but will always hold a special place in our hearts.
