Jacqueline Atkinson Matysek, 73, went home to the Lord May 23, 2017. Jacki, of Mineral, VA, was born December 15, 1943 to Isla and Cleveland Atkinson, spent her childhood in Holly Grove, VA. She is preceded in death by her parents; siblings Wilbur Atkinson, Orene Parrish, first husband Granville Lee (Billy) Cooper and granddaughter Emerald Reky’ Cooper. She leaves to cherish her memory; her husband John Matysek; children: Margo Cooper-Parrish (Rob), William Cooper, Jacqueline (Dinky) Cooper-Dunaway (Charlie), Michael Cooper (Stephanie); grandchildren: Katie Gi (Som), LeAnne Brown, Rachel Cooper, Jeremy Cooper, KelleAnne Surine (Johathan), Austin Cooper, Erica Cooper; great-grandchildren: Elyssa, Savanah, Harper, Steven, Elayna, Samuel, Connor, Bryce; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 pm on Friday, May 26th at Lacy Funeral Home, Mineral, Virginia.
A funeral service will be held at 11am on Saturday, May 27th at Oakland Baptist Church, 2800 Oakland Church Road, Gum Spring, Virginia. Interment will follow in church cemetery.

I have so many memories with my Granny. The sail boat trips we took and the first book series she got me that I finished in that week we went to Saint Micheals. She always have the best head rubs and as crazy as it sounds her love was felt through them. She loved her lunch breaks at Casa Grande and shopping lol. She would always say how black was slimming 🙂 I remember when I was little always playing in her jewelry box. I can go on and on about the memories I will cherish but I will stop here. I love you Granny! I will miss you more than anyone can begin to imagine.
