Leland S. Kemp, 89, of Bumpass, Virginia passed away on Friday, July 15, 2016. He was a World War II vet; and had served as Deacon of Bethany Christian Church. He is preceded in death by his wife Joyce Lloyd Kemp. He is survived by his children, Charles Kemp (Patty), Charlotte Trainum (Ed) and Frank Kemp (Cathy); three granddaughters, Melinda Hawxhurst (David), Kacey Gillespie (David) and Amy Trainum; and numerous nieces and nephews.The Family will receive friends from 6 to 8pm on Sunday, July 17, 2016 at Lacy Funeral Home, Rt. 522 Mineral, VA. A funeral service will be held at 11am on Monday, July 18th at Bethany Christian Church with interment in Hillcrest Cemetery, Louisa, VA.In lieu of flowers please make donations in his name to Bethany Christian Church Youth Group, 2402 Bethany Church Rd, Bumpass, VA 23024.
I have known Kemp” since the Kemp family moved to Bumpass many years ago. He has been a real asset to our community always ready to help in any way.”

I am very sorry for your loss . Losing a loved one in death is such a difficult thing to experience . Please be comforted by the promises in the Bible . Jesus tells us at John 5 : 28 , 29 that all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out . What a loving provision put in place by the God of all comfort so we can have the assured hope of seeing our dead loved ones live again one day . Meanwhile as I pray for that day to come I ask Jehovah God to bless your family and give each of you the strength to endure this most trying time .
