Susie M. Stanley 75 of Beaverdam, Virginia passed away on Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at her residence. She is preceded in death by her husband, Irvin N. StanleySusie was a loving mother and grandmother and leaves to cherish her memory; two daughters, Deborah Stanley of Beaverdam and Shelia Tate of King George, VA, granddaughter; Harley C. Adams, grandson, Shaun Tate; great-grandsons, Ryan and Brandon Tate, both of King George, VA and six siblings.A funeral service will be held 2:00pm on Saturday, December 20, 2014 at Zion Christian Church, Beaverdam, VA.The family will receive friends 6-8pm on Friday, December 19th at the church. Interment will follow the service in Trinity Episcopal Church Cemetery, Beaverdam, VA.In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in her name to Zion Christian Church, 16158 Beaverdam School Rd. Beaverdam, VA 23015 or Disabled American Veterans, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, Ohio 45250.

Debbie & sweet Harley, I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your mom. I thought of little Harley and remembered her shopping with her grandmother at GMT. I remember the cute conversations and the stories she told. I know this will be hard for Ms. Harley as well as yourself. Please know she is at peace and is breathing that heavenly air with ease. I hope you find peace in the Lord at this time. Remember His arms are around both of you. Prayers are being said and will continue. Dear Debbie & family,Sue was a special part of the Beaverdam community. Her thoughtfulness and service to others, especially when she cut hair. She made a difference in many peoples lives. Our family enjoyed our visits with Sue and she impacted us in many ways (prayers, haircuts at special moments (preparation for trips home to Fl., Locks of love, school pictures). She will be missed greatly. Our prayers are with you and your family. May you find comfort, joy and peace as God showers His love on you as He carries you through this time. May your heart lighten knowing Sue is home for Christmas with Jesus Christ.
Sue was such a local treasure to all who knew her. She will be missed…our thoughts and prayers are with her whole family.
