Jeanette Karen Wilson

Wilson, Jeanette Karen………….of Bumpass, Virginia, succumbed to cancer at home holding her husband’s hand on December 3 at age 52, just a few miles from her childhood home of Mineral, Virginia. Her illness was marked by dignity, determination, and grace. She was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Ada Wilson. She leaves behind her husband, Mark Monson, daughters Danielle and Elizabeth Wade, sister Bernice Kube (Ed), brother Doug Wilson (Kammie), nieces Janelle Buggio (Vince) and Brandi Wilson, nephew Trey Kube, and a host of loving relatives. She graduated from Louisa County High School in 1980 and from Averett University in 1984 with a degree in accounting. Jeanette had a very successful career as an accountant and fiscal officer for a number of state agencies, retiring May 1, 2014, after 30 years of dedicated service. A loving, quiet, smart, passionate, and beautiful woman, Jeanette will be missed by all who knew her, especially her husband and best friend Mark. Family will receive visitors at Gum Spring United Methodist Church on Thursday, December 11 between 5:00 and 8:00 p.m. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, December 12 at Gum Spring UMC. Interment will follow the service in the family plot at Mineral Baptist Church. There will be a fellowship gathering at Gum Spring UMC following the internment. Dress is casual. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to VCU’s Palliative Care Unit in Jeanette’s name.
