Roger E. Parker 66, of Holly Grove, Va was taken by angels to his heavenly home on Monday, Nov. 3, 2014.Roger was born Sept. 27, 1948 in Kings Mountain, NC. He was preceded in death by his parents, Margaret and Nathan Davis; his brother, Kenny Parker; and his sister Myra Price.Roger was employed for 25 years at Hanover County Public Utilities.Survivors include his loving wife of 39 years, Brenda C. Parker; his son, Keith (Susan); daughters Jeana Gann (Bobby) and Doris Morton (Mark); eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren; brother Sonny Parker (Patsy); sisters Mona Hinson (Eddie), Dee Dee Howell (Ken); sister-in-law Vickie Parker; brother-in-law Carl Price; and a host of nieces and nephewsThe family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 5 at Holly Grove Christian Church.A service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 6 at the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

To the Parker Family,Roger was one of the nicest and sweetest guys you ever wanted to meet. I worked with him at Hanover County for years. We always talked about antiques and collecting stuff. I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Heaven has gained another angel, and I now know he is no longer in pain. Your family will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Roger Parker was one of a kind man. Scholar, Preacher, Hell Raiser, and damn good friend. Roger and I always talked and he was there for me in my time of need when my wife passed. We had lots of talks and good times. Roger would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it and tell what you were doing wrong when you needed it. The world has lost a fine man. I will miss Roger and his quick wit and warm smile and his stories. RIP Roger you will defiantly be missed. Brenda if you need anything please contact me. Do not send me a card as it is unnecessary.
