BROOKING, Boothe Bland, Francis” 79 of Goochland passed away peacefully Tuesday July 22 2008. He is survived by his devoted wife of 56 years Doris Parrish Brooking; his children James William Brooking and his companion Candace McKinley of Sandy Hook Evelyn “Liz” of Sandy Hook and Betty Nicholas and devoted son-in-law Glen of Louisa; two granddaughters Danielle Brooking of Sandy Hook and Kris “Jay” Rachmel of Waynesboro; great-grandson Matthew Bland Serrett; his brother Dale Brooking and wife Bee of Richmond; his sister Jane Jandrlich of Gadsden Ala.; sister-in-law June Brooking of Sandy Hook; and numerous nieces and nephews. Francis was a devoted father enjoyed the great outdoors loved his garden and was a lifetime lumberman. His remains rest at the Lacy Funeral Home Rte. 522 Mineral Va. where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday tonight. Graveside funeral services will be private. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Forest Grove Church Cemetery Fund. Online guest book at www.lacyfh.com.

My thoughts and prayers are with each of you at this time. Uncle Francis was a loving and fun man. I will cherish my memories of the days that I spent with him when I came over to visit and stay as a child. I know we will be with him again in Eternity. May God be with you all and comfort during the days to come.
