Dearold L. Sherman
December 8, 1957 – September 8, 2021
Dearold L. Sherman, 63, of Bumpass, VA passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 from complications related to a kidney transplant.
He is proceeded in death by his father, Dearold L Sherman; beloved mother, Margaret Hostetler; son Timothy Dearold Sherman: nephew David New.
He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Terry Sherman; one brother, Robert Leroy Sherman, five sisters, Vicky Hosmer; Linda Sherman; Lorretta Gibson(Steve); Judy Hostetler; Mary Tiller(Doug); two children, Melissa Sherman (TC); Joshua Sherman; seven grandchildren, Thomas Dearold Clune, Sarah Clune, Chase Proffitt, Brayden Blankenship, Preston Sherman, Joshua Dearold Sherman, Jaxson Sherman; and many nieces and nephews he loved spending time with.
Dearold was a proud Navy veteran and took pride in his 20 years of service and reminiscing with his shipmates. After retiring from the Navy, Dearold went to work as a Boiler mechanic at the University of Richmond until he retired. He was a member of the VFW and American Legion. He enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family and friends as often as he could. He was very active in his grandchildren’s lives and he was best known to them as Paypa. He also enjoyed taking them fishing, swimming and riding on his boat every chance he could.
We will be having a visitation on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 from 2:00 pm – 6:00 pm and Visitation on Wednesday, September 15, 2021 from 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm with graveside services immediately following at his home located at 1253 Signboard Road. Bumpass, VA. 23024.
I met Dearold though my older brother and my hu Ricky .What a awesome man he is.His wife Terry and Dearold they treated us like we were family. .Oh Dearold you are going to be miss. And that smile you have will be miss by us all..Go rest high on that mountain! With Jimmy and your family who is up there to. Prayers to your love one here on earth🫂🙏🙏🙏
