Anne Perkins Harris

Anne Perkins Harris, 81, of Bumpass passed away Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at her home.Mrs. Harris was the 12th child of Marion and Blanche Hubbard Perkins. She was the widow of Alvin S. “Toot” Harris Sr. She was preceded in death by eight sisters and four brothers.Survivors include her children Stan Harris (Debbie), David Harris, Janis Harris and Kelly Saunders (Tracy); brother William Perkins; seven grandchildren Brad, Brian, Brandi, Shannon, Ryan, Melodi and Taylor; four great grandchildren William, Carter, Mackenzie and Isabelle; and a baby girl to arrive in the Fall.The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, June 19 at Hopeful Baptist Church.A service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 20 at the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
What moves through us is a silence, a quiet sadness, a longing for one more day, one more word, one more touch, we may not understand why you left this earth when you did, or why you left before we were ready to say good-bye, but little by little, we begin to remember not just that you died, but that you lived. And that your life gave us memories too beautiful to forget. Rest in peace Anne.

Some people come into our lives and quietly go. Others stay for a while and leave footprints on our hearts. And we are never the same. Mama Anne was definitely someone who left her footprints on my heart. I always thought of her as my 2nd mama growing up. My sincere condolences to Kelly, Janis, Stan and David.
