David Preston Gabbert, 71, of Bumpass, Va., born April 21, 1941, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, July 27, 2012.He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Walker Gabbert; his beautiful daughter, Terry Gabbert Seiler and her husband; his son through marriage, David Alan Seiler. His sisters and brothers through marriage were an integral part of his life, and he cherished their friendship. David retired from CSX in 2000, and loved the game of golf.David was a member of Hopeful Baptist Church in Montpelier, Va., where services will be held on Tuesday, July 31, at 2 p.m. in the sanctuary. He will be laid to rest in the church cemetery immediately following the service.The family will receive friends at the church for one hour prior to the service.In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, 1001 Johnson Ferry Rd., Atlanta, Ga. 30342.
