Gertrud Maria Short, 68 of Bumpass, VA passed away on Saturday, October 6, 2012 at Henrico Doctors Hospital surrounded by her family.Mrs. Short is survived by her husband, Donald L. Short; a son Ronald A. Short and his wife Dr. Shelley Short and grandchildren Jacob, Jessica and Travis of Goochland, VA; a daughter, Melissa Cranor and (Bruce) and grandchildren, Jennifer Cranor, Julie and Eric Bratton; one great-grandson Gabriel and eight siblings including Silvia Gardner and Monika Richotte.The family will received friends 7-9pm on Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at Lacy Funeral Home, route 522 Mineral, Virginia. Interment will be private.In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to National Kidney Foundation of VA 1742 E. Parham Rd. Richmond, VA 23228
