James Edward Sacra, born December 14, 1945, went to be with his heavenly Father on July 17, 2015.He is survived by his wife, Judie, of 49 years and his little beloved cat, BooBoo. He is also survived by three brothers Emmett Sacra, Wayne Sacra, and Donnie Harris; three sisters Shirley Rhoades, Thelma Jean Hickerson, and Louise Goodwin; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Emmett and Alma Sacra and his sister Jeanette Fitzgerald.James joined the Marine Corps in 1965 and proudly served his country. He was a “die hard” Marine-“Once a Marine, always a Marine.” He will always be remembered for his big smile and giving spirit.A private service will be held a later date.In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider a donation to Hospice of the Piedmont, 675 Peter Jefferson Parkway, Suite 300, Charlottesville, VA 22911.

Dear Judie,I admire you. You are a Christian lady, a devoted wife, and a dear friend. James suffered for so long, and you were committed to giving him the best of care. James adored and loved you. I believe that is why he held on” for as long as he did. I remember that James would watch church services on television, and read his Bible on Sundays.
