Joseph Preston Stanley, Sr. 77, of Bumpass, Virginia passed away; Monday, January 9, 2012 at his residence. Born in Virginia he was the son of the late William T. and Bell H. Stanley.
Joseph is survived by his companion of 22 years; Florence L, Melton; his sons, Joseph P. Stanley, Jr. of Hanover, VA, Gerald W. Stanley of Henrico, VA and Steve Rigsby of Mineral, VA; a daughter, Cathy R. Cutright of Bumpass, VA; a brother, James Stanley of Bumpass, VA; and two sisters, Maybell Perry of Mineral, VA and Mattie Stanley of Bumpass, VA; as well as several grandchildren; great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held 11am on Thursday, January 12, 2012 at Emmanuel Holiness Church in Louisa County; interment will follow in the Stanley Family Cemetery, Henrico County.
