
Mary Ann Strong

Mary Ann Strong, 77, of Bumpass, VA passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Monday, November 2, 2020 at her home surrounded by her family.
A life-long member of Bible Baptist Church (now Cornerstone Baptist Church) in Mineral, VA until her illness. Mary Ann Loved to go to church and was active in the nursery and Awana. She loved Southern Gospel Music, especially Jeff and Shari Easter, and collected Noah’s Ark figurines. Although she worked for a short period of time at Holly Farms (now Tyson’s), Mary Ann’s Primary job in life was wife, mother, and homemaker. She loved to clean, loved to shop for clothes, and jewelry and never paid full price for anything.
She was born May 29, 1943 to the late Wallace and Mary Jane Perry.
She is preceded in death by two sisters, Emma Fortune, and Leila Wheeler; three brothers, Buck Perry, Willie Perry, and Eugene Perry.
Mary Ann is survived by her husband of 59 years, Willie Alfred Strong; four sons, Alfred Strong, Roger Strong (Pam), Ronnie Strong (Michelle), and Chris Strong; five grandchildren, Beth Strong, Megan Gallmeyer, Matthew Strong, Caleb Strong, and Daniel Strong; two sisters Dorothy Shumake, and Gertrude Stanley; one brother Gordon Perry; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held Thursday, Nov. 5, 2020 at Bethany Christian Church Bumpass, VA from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral Services will be Friday, Nov. 6, 2020 at 11 a.m. at Bethany Christian Church. Interment will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery Mineral, VA.
The Family request that all in attendance please wear a mask and practice social distancing. Temperatures will be taken at the door of the church.
