Richard Gordon Harris, Sr., Our loving father went to be with Our Lord, on Thursday, December 12, 2013. He is the son of the late Richard E. Harris and Thelma Wellington Harris. He was a member of Gum Spring United Methodist ChurchDaddy was a loving father, husband, grandpa and great-grandpa. He worked for Harris Heating & Plumbing, Inc. for nearly 48 years. He loved to raise a garden and share it with friends and family. He devoted his life to his family and wants to express his love for his adopted family at Amelia Nursing & Rehab; where he resided from May 2012 until his return home to His Savior and his late wife, Erma Lee of 59 years. He is survived by his sons, Richard G. Harris, Jr. “Dickie” & wife Penny and Steven C. Harris & wife Nancy, one sister and last living sibling Hazel Johnson, grandchildren, Lynn Durham (Lindsey), Ricky A. Harris (Diana), Kenny Jamerson (Pamela) and great0grandchildren, Katlyn, Lucas, Dakota, Holly, Bailey, Coleman, Casey, Victoria and GunnarThe family will receive friends from 6-8pm on Sunday, December 15, 2013 at Lacy Funeral Home, Mineral, VA. A Service will be held at 11am on Monday, December 16th at Gum Spring United Methodist Church with interment in church cemetery.In lieu of flowers please give a donation to Amelia Nursing & Rehab Recreation Dept.
