Robert W. “Bobby” Overton
March 1, 1946 – January 3, 2023
Robert W. “Bobby” Overton, 76 of Bumpass, Virginia, passed away peacefully Tuesday January 3rd, 2023, surrounded by his family. Bobby was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, who never met a stranger.
Bobby was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Bonnie Hagen Overton and his parents, Robert W. Overton, Kathleen Shell Overton Pritchett and stepfather, Wade H. Pritchett.
He is survived by his son, Robert W. “Robbie” Overton, III, and his wife Ada Strong-Overton; his son Benjamin M. Overton, and his wife Tonya Henley Overton, as well as a beloved granddaughter, Libby Overton.
Bobby enjoyed working with his hands and was an accomplished bricklayer and taxidermist. His love of the outdoors included his rabbit dogs, hunting, fishing, and gardening. Bobby loved life and lived it to the fullest.
A celebration of life will be held Friday January 13, 2023 from 6:00pm – 8:00pm at Lacy Funeral Home.

I can’t begin to say how much he will be missed and how much we loved him. We love you all and our prayers are with you during this time. Pops is loved by many.

My husband and I are so truly sorry for y’all’s loss. I’ve heard so many wonderful stories about Bobby and Bonnie through the year’s. I meet Bobby & Bonnie year’s ago through my husband James. Bobby was definitely one of a kind. Bonnie was definitely his match. They both were great people and will truly be missed. Lifting the entire Overton family up in prayer 🙏🙏🙏.

Met this man when he and Bonnie were dating! He always made us laugh! Wore a shirt with beer cans on it to our reunion because I had asked that no alcohol be at the reunion. It was priceless!! He, Bonnie and so many others in our family are sorely missed. Loved them all!!! Keeping the family in my heart and in my prayers.
