Robert Ray Waddy, 63, of Montpelier, died at his home Wednesday, April 21, 2010 after a long bout with Lou Gehrig’s disease. He was preceded in death by his parents T.C. and Grace Waddy and is survived by his wife Margie Crews Waddy, two sons; Randall Waddy and his wife Melanie and Stewart Waddy, three grandsons; Nathan, Cameron and Quinton, his sister; Betty Whitlock, two brothers; T.C. Waddy, Jr. and Joe Waddy and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 24th in Hopeful Baptist Church in Montpelier. The family will receive friends at the church from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday. Burial will be private at Mount Hermon Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Hopeful Baptist Church Missions, ALS Association or the Montpelier Ruitan Club.

It is my own loss I write, none of us ever had enough gentlemen in our life, Ray decidely was. A heart full of try and always with a smile. An over achiever for ever yesterday, now and tomorrow.
