Susan Richardson Smith, of Bumpass, Passed away on her 99th birthday September 26, 2007. She was born in Louisa County, Va, She was preceeded in death by her husband, Reuben L. smith; and her daughter Mary C. Dunn. she is survived by 3 grandchildren; Thomas Cooke, Carolyn Lewis, and Mary Mitchell; 3 great grandchildren; and 5 great- great grandchildren
Susan was like a mother to Larry Pate when he was growing up. He had wonderful stories to share about his childhood which Susan was a big part of. We traveled to VA numerous times to visit with Susan and she was always waiting in her rocking chair sound asleep for us to arrive. We enjoyed listening to her stories and will always treasure the happy times we spent with her…Mary, Ron, Pat Paradise and Larry Pate will miss her.

She was a terrific Grandmother and she loved everyone. She loved Ruebin, and all of her family with whom she grew up with in Lousia. She loved her 3 grandchilder; Tommy;Carolyn and Marry Stuart and she loved her cats…. but most of all, she her daughter Mary who passed 4 days ahead of her on the 22nd day of Sept.She was a wonderful Grandmother and I will always remember her and love her dearly….
