Thomas Bourne

Thomas Lewis Bourne Jr., of Montpelier, died on Friday, January 23, 2009.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom Lewis and Mattie Bourne; brothers Clyde and Silas Knight Bourne; and sisters Julia Moss, Virginia Nuckols and Nellie Carter.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Irma Parrish Bourne; his daughters, Yoland Morris and her husband, Bob, and Jacquelyn Bowles and her husband, Gerald; grandchildren, Susan Anderson, Tommy Bourne, Kevin McLeod and Amy Wyant; seven great-grandchildren; and his sister, Lois Carpenter.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, January 25 at Lacy Funeral Home, Route 522, Mineral.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, January 26 at Hopeful Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Papa,I miss you so very much, but your words of wisdom will live on with us forever. I always wanted to be as big as you, but finally realized that it was not that I filled your shoes, but the path they led me on that made me a man. I love you. Tommy
