HARRIS, Wayland Vaughan, born March 28, 1931 to Earl Vaughan and Mary Tiller Harris, died Friday, August 23, 2013 at his home in Bumpass, Va. He was a retired dairy farmer, a charter member of the Holly Grove Ruritan Club, and a lifelong member of Hopeful Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Jean Murphy Harris; his son, Wayland Harris, Jr. of Bumpass; his daughter, Sherry H. Lacy, her husband Ray, and their daughter, Caroline, of Mineral; his brother, Robert N. Harris and his wife Gloria of Fall City, WA; his sisters, Carolyn H. Nicholas of Mineral and Rebecca H. Doss and her husband Roger of Maidens; an aunt, Margaret K. Tiller of Bumpass; and a number of nieces and nephews and other family members. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday, August 26 at Hopeful Baptist Church in Montpelier. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 27 at the church, with interment in the church cemetery.
