William Edward Cumber
January 14, 1948 – October 19, 2022
William Edward Cumber Jr., 74, of Montpelier Va, passed away on October 19, 2022 at his residence.
He enjoyed hunting, working in his garden, watching nascar and riding his motorcycle.
He is preceded in death by his parents William Edward Cumber Sr. and Daisy Cumber, his brother James “Pee Wee” Cumber, and two sisters Joyce Marsh and Priscilla Miles.
Survivors include his wife, Charlene Cumber, Children Frank Dehart and Eddie Cumber III, grandchildren; Dylan, Ciara, Julie, Danielle, Aaron, Christine, Casey, Whitley, Chelsey, Luke, Aaron, and Olivia. 21 great grandchildren, and all of his fur babies as well as a host of other family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 12:00PM, Saturday, November 19, 2022 at Lacy Funeral Home. 6241 Cross County rd, Mineral Va, 23117.
Sad to hear of Billy’s passing. Billy worked for me for awhile many years ago when I had a cabinet shop in the Hanover Industrial Airpark. He was a good craftsman and a lot of fun to work with. I had one other guy working for me, Emmett Jones and we used to call Billy, Uncle Billy. In fact I saw Emmett a few weeks back and we were talking about Billy. I remember when Billy found a better job and told me he would be moving on. He almost had tears in his eyes and told Emmett and I he loved both of us and hated to leave.We hated to see him leave too. We really missed him. Billy was a great guy to work with and had a big heart. I know his family will miss him greatly. May God bless you all. Sincerely, Andy Washington.
