
William Roger Byers
July 27, 1955 – September 23, 2021
William Roger Byers, 66, of Bumpass, VA passed away September 23, 2021 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Richmond, VA.
William was preceded in death by his parents, John W. and Mary Foster Byers; and his brother Edward Lee Byers.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Julie W. Byers; he is also survived by numerous family members and friends.
William joined the Masons in 1985 and was a member of Murray Lodge # 175 Fredericks Hall, Va. He served as Master of the Lodge for 13 years, and served as secretary of the Lodge for 11 years, beginning in 2004 – 2015. He was district Deputy Grand Master for the 10th Masonic District in 2015. William was a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason with perfect attendance.
William was a Noble with the Ancient and Accepted Order of the Nobles of Mistic Shrine, Kena Temple, Manassas, VA and president of the Patriot Shrine Club for 7 years, 2015 – 2021.
William was retired from Dominion Energy at North Anna Nuclear Power Station after working there for approximately 40 years.
A visitation will be held 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, September 30, 2021 at the Byers Family Cemetery 454 Frederick Hall Road Bumpass, VA with a graveside service to follow at 11 with speaker Reno Cutright.
In lieu of flowers please donate to the Shriners Children’s Hospital.
